Dancing Here Alone
04:24

Saturday comes, I will not run
Put your hands on me to touch
Flowers on fire, the pillow talk's too much
Lying alone in your bedroom
And it said room to let
I forget just how I did it again
Recollects of a city bigger than this
Hand me the axe, off with my head
Mess around and throw it away
Never one call the glow of your walls we'll stay
Lying alone in your bedroom
Lying alone in your bedroom
And we dance and we dance and we dance
Kid you're spinning, no kidding
And we dance yeah we dance yeah we dance
I've been missing for a while
Cause I feel so bad, but should I
Lying alone in your bedroom
And were you dancing here in March
Use a fire to put out a spark
And were you dancing here in April
Wait for all your plans to start
And were you dancing here in May
The realization that it wouldn't stay so bright
Cause you were dancing here in February every single night
Saturday waits for me, I just can't wait
And although you bring nothing new to me I can't escape
Cause for a minute you held me close
Let's get out of these clothes again
And for a minute we're old time lovers in modern dress and then
Lying alone in your bedroom
Lying alone in your bedroom
Lying alone in your bedroom
Lying alone in your bedroom
I feel like you and I happened so heavenly
Concerns, I've got none but you put 'em on me
Hearts break, things change, I'm not yours anymore
Move your crooked hands alone
In the lowlight until I come home
Move your crooked hands alone
Until august is almost gone
From September to December
Were your embers dancing free
Because you spent the start of January dancing here with me
Summertime sang to me I'd no escape
And although you brought naught much new to me I couldn't wait
You're never gonna get over yourself till you're over me
I'm not your saviour, I don't want to save your life
Lying alone in your bedroom
Lying alone in your bedroom
Lying alone in your bedroom, in your bedroom, in your bedroom
Lying alone in your bedroom

For the Last Time
05:27
|

I wanna go to school and I wanna have some fun
But there's not a school in town that'll have me
I'd like to go to sleep and dream away past miseries
But all the bedroom doors are closing early
And you hang around just to tell me lies about myself
Now your head is on my pillow and my hands are on the bells
They're ringing out in the morning, to wake up
The haze over this town that keeps its people sleepy, and boring
We're going back to ours
And the crowds all cheers as we pull out of the park
The hands are clasping shoulders for the last time
I'd like to legally walk barely down the crescent, equally
I'm confident when I walk down my own hallway
I've been standing waiting trying to make into a painting
Makeshift worries on tax papers I'm ignoring
Well the cat's in the bag I'm sorry he won't be coming out very soon
So I throw another sack of sand, the man says my hot air balloon
Needs to come down, well I'll calm down
As I see my city come into sight
Did I break down, such a shakedown
Your hand's in mine and the TV's singing like
La la la la, la la la la la
I've got worries, you've got troubles, we've got time
Let's leave them in the sky
In the sky
Well you had an amazing thought
But never had the chance to put it into words
So you jumped from the thirteenth floor
Straight into my head well I needed a haircut anyway
And your chest falls into line
You haven't got it into your head quite yet
That you're not getting into mine
Well that's good, cause I'll meet her later anyway
What can I say as you stand me up for the first time
And for the last time I don't want to drive
Put back your clothes on
It goes hand in hand with what's wrong with you
Now that the crowd's gone home I can crawl home too
But it isn't a path to take lightly
Reign your head in
Cause it's raining and you're getting quite wet and too cold
And I'll bet you were told
That something magical would happen on a day like this

So you're standing in the corner again
And you haven't got a drink in your hand
You don't need to worry about just how you look
And staring eyes, don't let them get to you
Cause you know that they're too
Far out to worry about
So dance like me hand 'em a sight to see
You could spend your night just looking at her
But she's not looking your way
And you know in the end that you'll end up together again
It's far too easy, leave me be, let me free
Send me on our way
Okay
So you're standing at the bus stop
Waiting for the next ride home
And you got a little dose of what you're supposed to take
And if you wait then maybe something good'll happen
It'll be like you imaged it'd
No one else is there to have a good time
Don't let them get to you
And they'll get you down
A collective head in the ground
You got a lot of worries to make you feel alright
You got a lot of worries to make you feel alright
Waste by the window, distaste by the door
Hand me a pillow, I think I'll sleep here on the floor
So you're standing in the corner again
And you haven't got a drink in your hand
Nobody's paying you any notice all night
Let him walk in quietly, do not approach if seen
I'm out, you're out, everybody is

Candlelight casts a certain sense of comfort
In the night I still fly up to your window, see inside
It doesn't seem to bother me that I'm lying on my own
And I've been floating round, and thinking aloud
Just to find out what I'm owed
Hands in the pockets of your jeans, at the riverside
It doesn't seem to bother me that you're alright
We didn't really talk it out
House, you're the only company that I float around
But there are some days I never seem to get away from ground level
But just don't let me slip under
As I wonder what you're doing on this lonely night
House, you're awful quiet, is everything alright
[Kid]
Float round, don't touch the ground
Girl I've found you and I are inextricably bound
But always out of sync and you'd think I would be over it by now
Let me go, don't sail away
And you'd stow under the decks to burst out halfway
Now the horizon's gone and the rising sun won't come again
[Bassy]
Weekend spent, as I spin in your living room
On top and brightly lit
Pull out all the stops this time kid
Then Monday comes, as the grey of the day filters in
Get up, head off, hit the road
Back to the attic, dramatic and cold
I had a little dream about your face
You had a little bit of faith in me once
Straighten up your halo and crawl in love
Never in my life have I ever felt so complete
I thought about it all the time when you were lying next to me
But hope springs up in the most mysterious of places
Hands do things that minds can't
Don't woe for the world out of your control
The yellow flowers will grow
Until they cover all the streets with green and gold
It never made me shudder underwater girls
Swimming into my dreams
But when the daytime's gone and the nighttime's come
I'll be thinking about such things, as
Heavy lungs head along the highway
A hand reaches for a pillowcase
Been floating round and touching down
At the bottom of the ocean's deep
And do I remind you of something sweet still?
Don't you worry
The summer's gonna come and you're not gonna hold me
But don't get lonely
In that cold northern wind
My mind, and your eyes
Never shined so bright as the night that you showed me
There's a certain sense of comfort in the candlelight
And there's a perfect sense of slumber in the power lines
There's a murmur from the other side of satellites
And there's a flicker in the wind across the city lights
